A Twist On These Seasonal Favorite!

A festive feast that's ripe for sharing, this Pigs in Blankets Pizza is perfectly balanced by the creamy garlic butter base and sweet, fiery kick from the hot honey drizzle. Try adding a little gorgonzola or fry off the pigs in blankets before baking for an extra crispy pig! Either way it'll be delicious.

ingredients

  • For the pizza base:

    • 1 ball of pizza dough (Approx 250g)

    For the Garlic Butter white sauce:

    • 2 tbsp butter
    • 1 tbsp flour
    • 200ml milk
    • 1 tbsp Garlic Butter Seasoning Click Here To Purchase 
    • 50g parmesan cheese, grated

    For the Toppings:

    • 150g mozzarella cheese, shredded
    • 8 pigs in blankets cooked
    • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
    • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

    For the Hot Honey Drizzle:

    • 2 tbsp JD's Hot Honey

Directions

  1. Before you start making your Pizza, get your Ninja Woodfire Oven going!
  2. Insert you Pizza Stone, fill the Hopper with Oak Wood Pellets, switch on, choose Pizza Setting and Artisan.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the sauce thickens. Stir in the Garlic Butter Seasoning and grated parmesan. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a round shape.
  5. Spread the garlic butter white sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add the toppings: the cooked pigs in blankets, red onion slices, cheese and a little extra Garlic Butter seasoning.
  6. Transfer the pizza onto a Pizza Peel, then into the Ninja Woodfire Pizza Oven.
  7. Bake on Artisan Setting 370°C for 2-2.5 minutes until risen, melty and golden on the edges. Keep an Eye on it!
  8. Serve on a board, topped with the parsley and a generous drizzle of hot honey.
